We are on course to deliver on our mandates - DCE
The District Chief Executive of Banda in the Brong Ahafo Region, Madam Mary Konneh has said government is on course to deliver to meet the expectations of Ghanaians and that they will not betray their confidence.

“We shall deliver on our mandate and justify the confidence reposed on us”, she added.
Madam Mary Konneh said despite all the challenges confronting the district like inadequate Internally Generated Funds (IGF), government and the assembly under her supervision has chalked a number of success as far as development of the district is concern during her first year in office.
The DCE said she inherited a total debt of Seven Hundred and Sixty Thousand, Seven Hundred and ninety two Ghana cedis, ninety pesewas (GHC760,792.92) from the previous administration which she has been able to pay Four Hundred and Forty Six Thousand, Two Hundred and fifty three Ghana cedis, eighty six pesewas (GHC446,253.86).
Education
The DCE said the assembly gave financial support of seventeen thousand, five hundred cedis to 25 tertiary students in the district and also sponsored three separate mock examinations for the 2018 Basic Education Certificate Examination candidates in the district. The assembly in collaboration with the district education directorate is about starting girls model basic school for the 2018/2019 academic year to improve girl child education in the district.
She stated that government has not cancelled the school feeding programme for communities like Sabiye, Boase, Ahenkro, Kabrono and Gbao as being circulated and she is working hard for the president through the Gender ministry to enroll more schools in the district to the programme this year. To improve supervision in the education sector, the assembly purchased four tyres for education director's official vehicle.
Developmental Projects
The District Chief Executive said the assembly envisaged many programmes and projects which would be rolled out gradually to improve the socio- economic well-being of the people. Such projects include Sabiye R/C JHS block, Sanwa - Makala KG block and Kojee Community based Health Planning Services (CHPS compound) which are at the procurement stage, Nsawkaw- Boase road and Drobor- Kojee which have been advertised recently. Efforts are also being made to ensure the construction of Menji- Built Dam road.
However, projects like provision of 50 number dual desks to Bandaman Senior High and Technical school, construction of temporal warehouse for keeping items for the planting for food and jobs programme at Ahenkro, construction of gutters at Ahenkro which were a threat to life and property, renovation and furnishing of the DCE's bungalow and some offices of the assembly, sectional gravelling and filling at Ahenkro -Kabrono- Saase-Gbao- Makala are all completed and paid off.
Health
In her quest to improve health facilities and health delivery system in the district, efforts is being made to get Sabiye and Ahenkro health centers upgraded. Meanwhile, about 11,000 Ghana cedis have been given to Sabiye health center to purchase laboratory equipments for effective laboratory services.
