59 tertiary students in Atwima Mponua receives scholarship

The Atwima Mponua District Assembly through the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat has awarded scholarships amounting to Ghs 60,869 to 59 tertiary students.

At a gathering to present scholarship letters to the beneficiaries, Mr. William Darko, The District Chief Executive of the area gave an enthralling account of the stewardship of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo on his sterling performance in the educational sector.

He explained that the District Assembly has awarded scholarships to 343 students since 2017 and the Member of Parliament for the area Isaac Asiamah has also awarded Scholarships to 287 Tertiary students.

Mr. Darko noted that the Free Senior High School program is already cushioning parents from hardships and the decentralization of the Scholarship scheme will further release parents and guardians from financial burdens.

The DCE then advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the perpetual novelty. “You must make the scholarship be of benefit to the people of Atwima Mponua, Ghana and your parents”, he added.
