At the event District Chief Executive, Isaac Kofi Marfo extended his heartfelt congratulations to the teachers for accepting postings to the district and commended them for their readiness to serve in their new roles.
He urged the teachers to familiarize themselves with the communities they have been posted to by introducing themselves to the local opinion leaders, including Assembly Members, Unit Committee Members and Chiefs. According to the DCE, this practice will help them integrate better into the community and prevent them from being perceived as strangers.
Hon. Marfo emphasized the importance of maintaining a high level of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
He advised the teachers to avoid truancy and absenteeism, stressing that these behaviors could negatively impact on the children, who represent the future of the country.
He further encouraged the teachers to act as role models to the students, pointing out that their behavior and conduct should uphold the dignity of their profession.
Mr. Marfo also took the opportunity to highlight the achievements of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) since assuming office, attributing the district's development to the government's efforts and also urged the newly posted teachers to stay committed to their roles and contribute to the continued progress of the educational sector.
To address concerns raised by some of the teachers regarding their remuneration, Hon. Marfo called on the IPPD office and the Human Resource Department to expedite the processing of the necessary documents so that the teachers can begin receiving their salaries promptly.
The orientation event saw the participation of various key stakeholders, including heads of units at the Education Directorate, headteachers, and representatives from institutions such as Hollard Insurance, Amanano Rural Bank, GCB Bank and others.
The program ended with a call for collective effort in building a vibrant and efficient educational system for the district.
