BECE candidates urged to prioritise their future

They should obey instructions and make use of teachings received from their teachers and avoid any conduct that could ruin their future.
Mrs Asafu-Adjaye made the call at the opening of a five-day examination clinic for over 3000 candidates preparing for their BECE examination this year.
It is being organized by the District Directorate of Education in 14 centres in the district.
It aimed at preparing them adequately, instilling seriousness and discipline, while helping them to write the examination with confidence to come out with flying colours in the examination schedule for May this year.
She said the BECE was the first examination that crowned the journey of education since it remained the tool for selecting and placing learners to second cycle institutions.
“BECE is a gateway to senior high/technical school or institutes as well as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) school”, she added.
Mrs Asafu-Adjaye pointed out that, BECE was the examination that could lead them to achieve higher laurels in education, become useful citizens to themselves and their families, communities and the nation as a whole in future.
A total of 3,109 candidates, made up of 1,567 boys and 1,542 girls, from 105 public and 18 private schools are being taken through time management, study habits, career guidance, subject area briefings, among others.
Mr. Samuel Appiah Mills, Deputy Education Director in charge of Finance and Administration, who led the discussions, commended the candidates and their teachers for the commitment and comportment they had demonstrated at the program.
