Assembly Member registers 312 people on NHIS

The Assembly Member for Santa Maria Electoral Area in the Ga Central Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Kwesi Boandwoh in fulfilling a promise made during his campaign, has registered a total of three hundred and twelve (312) people onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

Mr. Boandwoh had pledged to renew for them to have access to quality health care.

He affirmed that he would work in conjunction with the health directorate of Ga Central Municipal Assembly on how they could properly manage the health of the people in the area.


He noted that during his campaign, he promised to bridge the healthcare gap of the people in his electoral area by way of establishing a comprehensive health project dubbed “Health First Agenda” for which he promised to register over 2,000 people onto the NHIS in the area.

According to him, he wants to touch base with the individuals within his jurisdiction.


The initiative was not meant to be imposed on any individual so he made them fill a form to indicate their consent.

Mr. Boandwoh, disclosed this when he was speaking with the Media adopting his plan to control the increasing criminality activities in the area.
