DCE calls for Support to enhance development

Mr. Gabriel Yaw Amoah, District Chief Executive for the new Bosome Freho District, has called for concerted action from all and sundry to facilitate the development of the district.

He said there was the need for the people to eschew negative tendencies, hatred and rancour and contribute positively to bring meaningful development to the area.

Mr. Amoah said this in an acceptance speech at Asiwa on Tuesday after the assembly had approved him to head the new district carved out of the Amansie East District.

He thanked the assembly members for voting for him this time around after rejecting him when he was presented to them for the first time last month.

Mr Amoah said the district needed a lot of things including better roads, schools, water, toilet facilities, electricity and health facilities and all hands should be on deck.

"We have a lot of responsibilities to perform, the area is for us, let\'s eschew all indifferences and unite and build the district for our own good\", Mr. Amoah said.

Mr. Benjamin Asonaba-Dapaah, a member of the Council of State, urged the DCE to have open administration to ensure effective collaboration and cooperation to enable him succeed.            

Mr. Osei Assibey-Antwi, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, said the victory was not for the DCE but for the district and called for unity of purpose among all stakeholders for the smooth administration of the district.

He said he was optimistic that they were going to work assiduously to fast track the total development of the district to prove to the President that they appreciate what he had done for them.

The Deputy Regional Minister urged the DCE to ensure equitable distribution of resources especially with special reference to education and health facilities.

Mr. Richard Aboagye, Municipal Chief Executive for the newly created Bekwai Municipality, said his administration was prepared to assist the assembly to stand on its feet.

An Information Communication Technology (ICT) Centre of the district is being used as the District Office.
