The Assembly has commenced comprehensive road reshaping exercises across the district using machines provided under the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP). The initiative is targeting roads that have remained in poor condition for extended periods and have become difficult for residents and motorists to use.

Among the areas benefiting from the road improvement works are the Nsuta Zone, Kokoben-Nkwantapong road and Brofoyedru, with additional communities expected to benefit as the exercise progresses.

The Assembly said the road projects are particularly important to farming communities, as improved road connectivity will make it easier for farmers to transport their produce to markets while also improving access to schools, healthcare facilities and other essential services.

In addition to the road projects, the Assembly, under the leadership of District Chief Executive Hon. Charles Appiah-Kubi, has commissioned three major infrastructure projects aimed at decentralising public services and improving access to essential facilities.

One of the projects is a newly constructed National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) office, which is expected to reduce the distance residents travel to access insurance-related services.

The facility will help improve access to NHIS registration, renewal and claims-related services, making it easier for residents to access the scheme without travelling long distances.

The Assembly has also completed a new Department of Agriculture office to strengthen agricultural extension services and provide better support to farmers in the district.

The facility is expected to improve the delivery of technical advice and extension services to farmers while strengthening the Department of Agriculture's ability to respond to the needs of the district's farming communities.

Another key intervention is the provision of residential accommodation for teachers, particularly those serving in rural communities.

The Assembly believes the accommodation will help address challenges associated with teacher retention and staffing shortages in remote areas by providing educators with suitable places to live.

The combined road and infrastructure projects form part of the Assembly's broader development agenda to improve connectivity, strengthen public service delivery and create an environment that supports economic activity across Bosome Freho.
