According to her, girl–child education is one of the priorities of her administration and she is going to support female candidates who will excel in the just-ended Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to further their education.

She observed that most of the parents did not encourage their female children to have a formal education, a factor that led to teenage pregnancy. “Girl–child education is my priority and we will ensure that the girls will benefit from the free senior high school program that has just begun”.

According to her, there will be a sponsorship package for those who will excel in the examination to further their education. For those who are unable to excel in the BECE, including those who have never been to school, they would have employable skills that would give them access to jobs.

In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com at the 2019 Climate Chance Summit in Accra, the MCE also assured that she would sensitize parents who did not believe in the girl – child education to consider its importance for the benefit of the girls and the society as a whole.

As the MCE, she will advise parents to support and invest in the girls. “We need to focus on more women aspiring to the top to promote issues on women’s economic empowerment.”
