DCE for Sagnarigu District cuts sod for 6-unit classroom
The District Chief Executive for Sagnarigu of the Northern Region, Hon Mariam Iddrissu has cut a sod for the construction of a 6 unit classrooms block for the Nujumul English and Arabic School in the Kanvili Tuunayili electoral area.

The 6 unit classroom block will also include a library, office and store, is expected to be completed in six (6) months’ time.
Cutting the sod for the commencement of the project, the Sagnarigu DCE urged the contractor of the project to start work immediately to complete the project on scheduled for the benefit of the pupils.
Madam Mariam said the project is one of the projects earmarks this year by the assembly to provide infrastructural development to enhance quality education in the district, adding that, education is the number one priority of the assembly.
She hinted that, two school projects has since been completed, including a 6 classroom in Choggu Demonstration School and an ultra-modern KG complex at the Our Lady of Fatima school, adding that, there are other ongoing school projects which are expected to be complete before the end of the year.
Hon Mariam, urged the pupils of the Nujumul English and Arabic school to study hard and become good citizens in the District.
She said, the President of the Republic Nana Akufo-Addo has priorities education in his administration and therefore has initiated several policies not only to improved teaching and learning but also to make education more attractive and very affordable for every Ghanaian child.
She said the free SHS policy is on its full implementation and parents and guardians are very happy about the policy, adding that, parents and guardians have no excused not to send their wards to school.
Hon Mariam said furtherance, in making sure parents send their children to school, the Government of Ghana under the leadership of Nana Addicted Dankwwa Akufo-Addo has also absorbed the registration fees of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates for the year 2018.
She therefore urged parents and guardians to replicate the President’s gesture by sending their children to school.
The Sagnarigu DCE after the sod cutting ceremony also inspected some ongoing school projects in the area, including a nine unit classroom block in Hassania Primary school in Gumani and another nine unit classroom block in Nyanshegu.
Hon Mariam again inspected an ongoing clinic project in Nyanshegu electoral area, the clinic is under the initiative of the first lady of Ghana, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo.
The Sagnarigu District Chief Executive also joined a clean-up exercise at Gumani where she commended the youth in the area for their communalism and urged other areas to emulate the examples of the Gumani youth.
