Speaking in an exclusive interview with Ghanadistricts.com, she emphasized that while government institutions play a vital role, citizens must also contribute meaningfully to the country’s progress.

She described civic engagement as a shared responsibility, highlighting that the 1992 Constitution mandates all Ghanaians to pay taxes, which are critical to national development.

“Every citizen must get involved and have a role to play,” she stated.

Madam Adjakrah outlined ongoing efforts by the NCCE to encourage civic participation, including community outreach, institutional visits, and public sensitization in markets, schools, churches, and among various social groups.

Meanwhile, the Ayawaso East Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with key stakeholders, has launched a comprehensive sensitization campaign to combat illicit drug use among the youth.

Speaking at the sidelines of a town hall meeting held at the Chief Imam Conference Hall in Kawukudi, the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Abdul Ganiyu Ibrahim, emphasized the urgent need to educate young people about the harmful effects of drug abuse.

“We are embarking on a sensitization within the municipality, so we are liaising with our community chiefs and an organization called Nima-First Foundation to go into the communities to preach drug abuse”, he stated.

He stated that the initiative is part of broader efforts to promote community health, safety, and youth development.
