The MP, however, has cautioned that the cost of the project could increase if the contractor fails to complete the work by December 2026. He stressed the need for timely execution to prevent possible additional costs and ensure that residents benefit from the project without unnecessary delays.

The rehabilitation of the Asuokaw Bridge is expected to address challenges associated with movement across the area and improve access for motorists and other road users.

In a related development, a contract has been awarded for the rehabilitation of the River Oku, while construction work is also ongoing on a 240-metre drain.

The drainage project is expected to help improve water flow and address drainage challenges in the area, although the full impact will depend on the quality and timely completion of the works.

The bridge repairs, River Oku rehabilitation and drain construction form part of ongoing infrastructure interventions aimed at addressing local development needs and improving conditions for residents.

Hon. Emmanuel Drah’s warning about the December 2026 deadline highlights the importance of effective project supervision and timely completion to avoid possible cost increases and deliver the intended benefits to the community.
