Birim South District Assembly focuses on structural development

The Birim South District Assembly is undertaking a number of structural development including the construction of a two-storey office complex for the Assembly.

The building when completed would accommodate departments such as; Community Development Unit, Birth and Death Registry, the National Youth Employment Programme, Agriculture Department, among others.

Mr Richmond Amponsah, the Birim South District Chief Executive, made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency and said the Assemblys focus had been on infrastructural development to improve the living condition of the people.

He said other structures under construction included a Community Health Planning Centre at Atuntunmirem, a market at Nyankomasi, a three-unit classroom block at Roman Catholic School at Anyimem Kotoku and four kindergarten classroom blocks at Anamase, Mensahkrom, Abijan and Fosukrom.

Mr Amponsah had earlier cut a sod for the commencement of the construction of a 24.5-kilometre road to link communities like Akim Swedru and Aduasa, Apoli and Apoliningo, which the Ministry of Roads and Highways had awarded on contract to Messiers Joment Construction Limited.
