According to the District Chief Excutiove of the area, Kwame Asare Danso, the number of communities without the national grid was a little more than the four, but thanks to some interventions from the Assembly in recent times, about nine (9) communities were hooked to the national grid.

Among them include Tutubrem, Swedru Market site, Awisa Camp, Mount Calvary, Official Town, Asawase and Akim Swedru SHS new bungalow site.

Mr. Asare Danso, however, assured the remaining four communities including Kwatawiah, Asuokoo, Tetekwasiegah and Kwame Ofori that the Assembly has not forgotten of their plight; as such efforts are underway to ensure they also enjoy electricity.

He believes achieving district wide electricity coverage would be a major steps towards creating an enabling environment for economic growth and reduce poverty among the people which is what they as leaders always aspire for.

He said he is always in talks with the Member of Parliament for the area Kennedy Osei Nyarko to ensure this dream is pushed to a reality.
