KWAEBIBIREM: We will prioritize revenue generation - DCE

The District Chief Executive of Kwaebibirem District in the Eastern Region, Seth Antwi Boasiako has called on the citizenry in the district to honour their tax obligations to the assembly in to enable the assembly deliver on the developmental needs of the various assemblies.

Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, the DCE noted that there are so many issues that confront the assembly and they all balls down to money, as such the assembly is serious about improving its revenue base to meet its financial obligations to the various communities.

“We will prioritize revenue mobilization to increase our internally generated fund (IGF) by adopting various strategies, particularly privatizing revenue collection at the market, that is market tolls, and collection of property rates”.

According to Mr. Boasiako the assembly will employ the use of information, communication technology (ICT) to develop a comprehensive database to boost revenue collection.

He also added that in furtherance to achieving this objective, the assembly will embark on the construction of a number of modern market projects to enhance economic activities and also as major revenue sources for the assembly.    

These modern market constructions will particularly be at Asuom, Kade and Akyem Techiman and will have stalls, stores and sheds among other relevant facilities, he added.
