Sankofa maiden edition in the new juaben north municipality
The Municipal Chief Executive of the New Juaben North Municipality Hon. Comfort Asante has called on the youth to revisit our beautiful culture.

The programme organized by the Centre for National Culture with the theme; ‘’Revisiting our traditional oral art for future generation to pay homage to it’’.
The event Sankofa which took place at SDA Chapel aimed at redefining our culture, learning from oral art and expressions used to communicate brought six selected schools together.
The MCE made mention of the fact that, Ghana is blessed with very rich and beautiful culture with oral art which is a significant feature of our culture. This includes proverbs, idioms, riddles and wise sayings that are often used to advise and reform us.
She stressed on how important it is for the youth to learn and understand these oral arts to draw their attention back to their roots. She further said that, our culture is our prime identity and for that matter needs to be practiced, taught, cherished and protected at all cost.
Hon. Comfort Asante brought to the attention of all that were present, the negative effects modernization has on our culture and stated that, it is one of the main reasons why we have forgotten our true roots and identity as Ghanaians.
The participating schools which took part in music of times past, riddles and idiomatic expressions were; Effiduase Methodist JHS, Effiduase Presby JHS, Salvation Army JHS, Asokore SDA JHS, Asokore Roman Catholic JHS and Effiduase Roman Catholic JHS.
