Upper Denkyira East MCE meets with fire victims

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Upper Denkyira East in the Central region, Mr. Ebenezer Forson Appiah has visited victims of a recent fire outbreak which occurred at the Kyekyewere Station in Dunkwa.

The fire outbreak, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday destroyed several shops and properties in the area.

In his interaction with the victims, the MCE stated that the Assembly through its National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) department will do all that it can to support them in this trying moment.

He however, advised the people to be cautious with fire especially during this dry season to prevent similar disasters from occurring.


On his part, the Municipal NADMO Director, Mr Alhassan Yakubu, briefed the people on the extent of damage and the stock of items that got destroyed by the fire.

He indicated that the team has been unable to tell the cause of the fire, adding that investigations are underway to ascertain the cause of the outbreak.



The MCE therefore entreated all affected victims to remain calm in this difficult situation.

Mr. Forson Appiah was joined by the Municipal NADMO Director, Mr Alhassan Yakubu, the Municipal Fire Commander, Mr. Frederick Gyimah and the Municipal Coordinating Director Mr Asumah Adam Braimah.
