NJSMA organised public hearing

The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly on Friday, 17th October 2025, organized a public hearing to present to the citizens the draft on 2026 to 2029, Medium-Term Developmental Plan for the Assembly.

The occasion which was to lay bare the developmental projects that the Assembly would want to embark on in the next four years sought to take the input of the public and fuse them into the Assembly’s Action Plan.

Presents at the ceremony include; The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Edward Abezin, Heads of Departments and Agencies.

Others are the Traditional Authorities, Assembly Member, Unit Committee Members, Religious Groups, Zonal Council Executive, Opinion Leaders, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Students, Women Groups, All Political Party Representatives, Civil Society Organization, Media, Eastern Regional Coordinating Council (EERC), Ghana Private Roads and Transport Unions (GPRTU), Security Services, Community Members, Kofkro Partners (DMAC, AFES, BBF, WP).

Speaking at the public hearing, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye urged his fellow Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executive (MMDCEs) to continue to be consistent in achieving their developmental goals set for them. He further added that all MMDCEs have been instructed by President Mahama to make sure that at least one important development project in their districts is accomplished by December this year.

He expressed his belief that every Assembly is making frantic effort to carry out this national mandate.

Mr. Owusu Boakye urged everyone to keep supporting the Assembly’s initiatives, particularly those that focused on youth, clean water, healthcare, and education. He believed that with everyone’s support, the Assembly can spring development to the door step of the citizens, thereby improving the livelihood of the constituents.

He mentioned that the public hearing is all about the draft on 2026 to 2029 Medium-Term Development Plan (MTDP) which entails the developmental projects the assembly wants to embark on. Some of these developmental plans mentioned were the construction of six-unit classroom block in Apimpoa, three-unit classroom for police primary school in Galloway, construction of ultra-modern CHPS compound in Agavenya and the drilling of eighteen boreholes within some selected electoral areas in the Municipality.
