Sekyere East takes steps to tackle insanitary conditions
The Sekyere East District Assembly has intensified its effort at tackling insanitary conditions in the area.

As part of this, it has held a five-day workshop to train people to fight open defecation in the various communities.
This was under the community-led total sanitation approach and the funding came from World Vision Ghana, an NGO.
Ms. Mahama Meiri, the District Environmental Health Officer, said the goal was to aid the communities to take centre stage in sanitation management to keep clean environment.
That, she said, was necessary to prevent diseases including malaria and diarrhoea.
She spoke of massive public education to help everybody to do the right things to improve environmental sanitation.
That would be combined with strict enforcement of the assembly’s bye-laws on sanitation, she added.
