Sunyani Municipal hosts dinner for Interns from University of Alabama

The Sunyani Municipal Assembly has held a farewell dinner in honour of faculty members and students from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, USA.

The 13 students together with two faculty members were in the Municipality to study as interns in various institutions.
During the event, leader of the delegation, Dr. Debra Nelson-Gardel in a remark expressed gratitude for the warm reception and love shown to them by Ghanaians wherever their duties took them.

She applauded the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Mr. Ansu Kumi and the Assembly for hosting them, and thanked Mr. Daniel Owusu McDaniels Coordinator for the Tuscaloosa Sister City Relations for his coordination and the good works.Professor Seth Appiah-Opoku of the faculty of Geography expressed the hope that the


Opportunity given to the students would strengthen the sister-city relation bond between the Sunyani Municipal and Tuscaloosa for mutual benefits. Mr. Ansu encouraged the delegation to share the positive stories of the Ghanaian system and culture with their compatriots.

He said that the doors of the Municipality are always open and that more students are welcome. He reiterated the hope that such exchanges would go a long way to promote knowledge sharing among the two cities.

The students took turns to share their experiences and the lessons learned. They noted that the system in the USA wasn't much different from that of Ghana and that both countries can learn from each other. They were grateful for the experience and were hopeful to make a return Journey in the pursuit of their academics.
