The MCE inspected the two facilities proudly made possible by the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development and supported by the Krowor Municipal Assembly.

The premix fuel automation project will help among other things to improve data on fishers, determine the actual premix consumption, monitor the distribution and sale of premix fuel, reduce the complex payment processes and eliminate premix fuel diversions.

The MCE said the move by the government through the MoFAD is laudable as it seeks to remove the human factor in the distribution chain and to ensure the premix fuel gets to those who actually need them for their businesses.

Mr. Bortey expressed delight at the quality of work and indicated that the projects would be commissioned soon to enable the fisherfolk to have access to it.

Premix fuel is a highly subsidized commodity to help the fishing industry with their business but over the years the sector witnessed some challenges which governments have tried to work on to bring some sanity into the system.
