The programme was eventually a 3 days continuous exercise through the benevolence of a successful Ghanaian footballer based in the United States of America.
The purpose of the exercise seeks to create awareness of breast cancer disease and the possible ways of addressing it.
In his submission, the Member of Parliament for Akuapem North Constituency and Deputy Minister of Information, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah Adjei lauded the efforts of Ansah Foundation for the initiative they have taken to carry out the exercise in the area.
She was of the opinion that the government in conjunction with the Ministry of Health has put measures in place to help diagnose breast cancer in society.
She lauded the group immensely in their efforts to create awareness to minimize the canker. She employed other groups to emulate such an exemplary move to complement the government’s efforts to narrow down on the disease.
The exercise attracted a large number of women from Akropong and its nearby communities to screen for the disease. Dr. Charles Arhinful and other supporting Health practitioners painstakingly took time to educate and projected on the screen the signs and symptoms of the disease.
The public was further encouraged to seek medical attention at the hospital when diagnosed with cancer but not to resort to unorthodox and native doctors/herbalists who have little or no idea about Breast Cancer.
He opined that if proper methods were not used, it could end up in complexity or even death.
Present to witness the programme include the MCE of Akuapem North, Barima Awuah Sarpong Asiedu-Larbi, NPP Western Regional Secretary, and some Traditional Chiefs.
