GOMOA East assembly inaugurates 7-member committee on child labour

The Gomoa East assembly has inaugurated a 7-member committee to enable the district curb the menace of child labour and trafficking.

The meeting was facilitated by Friends of the Nation (FoN) under the auspices of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) - SFMP (Sustainable fisheries Management Program).

District chief executive of the assembly Solomon Darko-Quarm advice the committee to assist in victim- offenders, mediation in minor criminal matter involving a child where the circumstances of the offence are not aggravated.


He further said, the panel may in the course propose an apology to the offended person or service the child to the offended person.

In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the DCE stated that his aim of inaugurating this committee is to reduce child labour so that they will all benefits from the educational programs that has been line up by the president.

Mr. Quarm advised the committee to work diligently within the scope of their mandate to enable the district achieve the sustainable development goals.
