DCE honoured senior citizens
The District Chief Executive of Asante Akim North in the Ashanti Region fete their senior citizens in the District amid good music, food and dancing.

The event held on July 2, 2018 at the DCE’s residence also offered opportunity for the senior citizens to be reminded of the need to observe good and healthy practices at their age in order to enjoy their retirement in good health.
Speaking to the Media, Mr. Francis Oti Boateng noted that gathering of this nature was very vital for our continuous survival. “It offers us the platform to meet new persons, link up with old friends, dance the boredom off, update ourselves on happenings in the municipality and also listen to the wise counseling of our senior members of the society.”
He enumerated a number of initiatives and interventions his administration has put in place to ameliorate the standard of living of people in the District. Among them include the reshaping and reconstruction of Agogo town roads, increase in the number of households presently enjoying the Livelihood Empowerment against Poverty (LEAP).
Before ending his speech, he appealed to the gathering to act as ambassadors of change and ensure that they lead a campaign to expose people who do bad things and other substances in our water bodies.
The District Health Promotion officer advised the gathering to adopt healthy lifestyle, desist from excessive sex and eat more fruits. He further encouraged them to form friendship groups where they would regularly visit and interact with each other to easy boredom.
During interaction section, many of the people gathered commended the District Chief Executive for his initiatives and programs especially on roads, and appealed to him to ensure that laws were strengthened to effectively deal with people who dumb rubbish into gutters and river bodies when it rains.
The short but colourful ceremony was attended by the District Chief Executive, Francis Oti Boateng, District Coordinating Director, Member of Parliament, Education and Health Directors, Nananom, Chief Imam, Hon Assembly members, staff of the Assembly, invited Senior Citizens and the media.
