The initiative followed the need for security operatives to guard them from the consistent attacks from nomadic herdsmen due to their dominance in the area.
Accepting the land on behalf of government, the Deputy Minister of Defence, Major Derek Oduro commended the people for the bold initiative to take charge of their own security.
“The chiefs and residents have done very well because they are not just doing this for the Armed Forces but Ghana as well. Nana Addo is very committed to the security of this nation.
“So as soon as possible, we will get surveyors to the land for evaluation to enable us begin construction soon,” he assured in an interview with Adom News as he urged others to emulate the initiative.
The Asante Akim North Member of Parliament, Andy Appiah Kubi expressed appreciation to the government for the continuous support.
Speaking on behalf of the residents, Agogo Kontihene, Nana Kwame Nti, pledged their continuous support to the government for developmental projects in the area.
