The gesture, according to District Chief Executive, Mr. Francis Oti Boateng, was to aid people living with disabilities to have a meaningful life.
The DCE encouraged the beneficiaries to look beyond their disabilities and aim higher. He also advised them to make good use of the items given to them.
He reiterated government’s commitment to build the capacities and empower Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to be financially self-reliant and reduce their burden on their families.
The Deputy Director of the Social Welfare Department in the Asante-Akim North District, Mr Isaac Agyen, advised the beneficiaries to take good care of the items provided them.
The beneficiaries who were selected from different communities in the District were thankful to the District Assembly for such a gesture. The programme was funded from the Disability Fund.
