Her first visit was the Halcrow and Railway electoral areas behind the fence wall of the Cocoa Village where scores of structures have been constructed on the sewer line.

She addressed the shop owners and informed them that there is a blockage in the sewer line especially the ones behind the Cocoa Village at Community 2 leading to an overflow and unbeatable stench with its accompanying health dangers.

She mentioned that officers from the Assembly had engaged the shop owners of the affected structures and discussed the need to pull down their structures.

The MCE reiterated that the structures on the sewer lines will be removed to pave way for repair works to be carried out on the sewer line.

“Due to the location of the structures, it has been very difficult to repair and rod the lines, therefore need urgent clearing of structure from the reservation lines” she stated.

After inspecting some sewer lines in community Two, the MCE stressed that the Municipal Assembly had received several complaints from some residents about the insanitary condition due to the leaking sewer lines.

She noted that the blockage and overflow of the sewer line and chambers have also led to effluent sipping through into drains and nearby bushes. The team later visited the pumping station at community five to see the operations at the pumping station.

The MCE’s second visit was the Kassadjan Electoral Area, where she interacted with residents. Through the Assembly Member Mr. Opoku Sekyere, she assured the residents of her commitment towards the provision of street lights to improve security within the electoral area.

She also assured residents of addressing the drainage and the bad road situation within the electoral area.

She said sustainable development is the key to a better Municipality and assured them of full support in line with the vision of the President to develop the Municipality.

At Kaizer Electoral Area, the MCE and her team led by Assembly Member for the area, Opoku Danso toured the community 5 market. According to the Assembly member, the used to be market has now been turned into a private residence.

The MCE however, assured that action will be taken to bring back the marketplace to its original state for the smooth running of businesses. She also assured residents of addressing the bad drainage system and road situation within the area.

The third and final visit was the Adjei Kojo Electoral Area where she visited some ongoing developmental projects of the Assembly.
