NJSMA distributes oil palm seedlings to farmers

The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly through the Municipal Agriculture Directorate has presented over fifteen thousand (15,000) oil palm seedlings to 90 farmers in the area.

In all, 12 females and 78 males within the Municipality benefitted to enhance their farming activities.

Mr. Isaac Appaw-Gyasi, the Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben South commended the farmers for their hard work in cultivating farm produce to the people within the Municipality and country at large.

He said, the Assembly is ever ready to support farming activities as far as farmers are willing to cooperate with the Assembly and government.

“Farming has provided job opportunities and making good livelihood which in the long will better the living standards of people across the country” He noted.


He continued by saying, Oil Palm plantation is one of the lucrative farm business that need to be tapped and urged them to put out their best to feed the country.

MCE also urged the famers to continue their farming business so as to reduce the quantity of foodstuff being imported into the country.

Mr. Kofi Amoako Tweneboah, the Municipal Agriculture Director, advised the beneficiaries to use the seedlings for the intended purpose.

He added that, the Agric department’s doors are always open for all farmers to seek any assistant concerning their farm activities.

Mr. Kwame Ansah, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked the Assembly and management for the support given to the farmers and pledged to use the seedlings for its purpose as said.
