The DCE who was speaking at the sideline of the inauguration of 24 MDCEs in Koforidua told Ghanadistricts.com that the Akyemansa district lacks a major market centre that serves as the main revenue source for most assemblies.

Thus the assembly is constraind in mobilizing enough revenue to carry out its development challenges. He added that depending o the releases from the District Assembly Common Fund and other releasess from the central government will not help in meeting their developmental goals hence the need to think outside the box to raise funds for their projects.

Another sector of focus according to the DCE has to do with health. To him, it is unacceptable for over 100,000 residents to be without a medical doctor to offer proper health delivery services. So he promised to laise with the Member of Parliament for the area and the health directorate to ensure the district gets a medical doctor.

He also assured that in line with the government agenda to promote free senior high school education and improve basic education, the assembly will not relent in achieving that.
