The new taskforce comprises of all Heads of Department who are weekly assigned together with other junior staff to sensitize the people and mobilize funds for the Assembly.

DCE of Akyemansa, Paul Asamoah, who disclosed this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, said: “when I assumed office, I realized that the assembly was handicapped in terms of finances so I decided to tackle it in short term programme and long term programme. Short term programme, I decided to tackle how we will sort out our IGF mobilization.”

“We therefore decided to mobilize all the Heads of Department to form a taskforce. So in a week we designed days that we will go out and mobilize something for the Assembly”, he added.

Mr Asamoah also disclosed that, the move formed part of plans initiated by the Assembly to boost its Internally Generated Fund (IGF) to augment inflows from central government to finance some of its ongoing projects in the district.
