This came to light during a district tour, which involved engagements with the Kumawu Traditional Council, interactions with staff of the District Assembly, and visits to communities to inspect ongoing development interventions.

The tour provided an opportunity to assess progress on development projects and engage key stakeholders on efforts to accelerate development in the district.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon Frank Amoakohene commanded The District Chief Executive, Hon. Kwasi Amankwaa, and his team for their hard work, commitment and leadership in advancing development across the district.

At the Kumawu Technical Institute, educational infrastructure projects being delivered through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) include the construction of a 12-unit classroom block, a dining hall with a kitchen, and a two-storey, eight-unit boys’ dormitory block.

These projects are expected to improve teaching and learning conditions and provide better accommodation and facilities for students.

The Central Government is also working to improve the road network within the district, recognising the importance of good roads in promoting economic activities, facilitating access to healthcare and education, and improving the movement of people and goods.

The development interventions reflect ongoing efforts by the government, in collaboration with local authorities, to expand infrastructure and improve service delivery in communities.

The progress in Sekyere Kumawu underscores the importance of effective local leadership, national development policies and community participation in achieving sustainable development.

The commitment remains to ensure that development interventions reach communities across the district and improve the lives of residents.
