NABCO structured to prepare trainees for job market - Ibrahim Anyans

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nation Builders Corp (NABCO), Mr Ibrahim Anyans says government has structured the NABCO initiative in a way that will not only address graduate unemployment issues of the country but also prepare trainees to meet the basic requirements that will enhance their chances of gaining employment in the job market.

The Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) programme is a government initiative that is aimed at addressing graduate unemployment to solve social problems. The focus of the initiative is to help solve public service delivery in health, education, agriculture, technology, governance and drive revenue mobilization and collection across the country.

The CEO stated this when speaking at a one day Workshop for NABCO trainees in the Techiman North district. The workshop was under the theme: “Investing in the Youth, Securing Our Future, through Opportunities for Work and Nation Building.”

Mr Anyans, who was addressing the trainees on how to remain profitable to the society also seized the opportunity to school them about the new NABCO Skills and Talent Academy (NSTA), which afford trainees an opportunity to enroll onto an online training school in order to enhance capabilities after the 3-years programme.


According to him, the Akufo-Addo led administration is doing everything possible to absorb trainees in various public sectors and other fields of work after their 3 years period had expired. He added that, the introduction of the One District, One Factory initiative among other similar flagship programmes clearly indicate government’s commitment to reduce the rate of unemployment in the country.

Meanwhile, trainees were also taken through some important work ethics including how to create good first impression, issues on appearance and personal hygiene.

One of the facilitators, Mr. Caleb Fugah gave detailed presentation on the DEXT Science Set, which is purposely to be used by science teachers to make teaching and learning of science easier. This was to help build the capacity of trainees in order to be able to help their pupils understand and experiment with miniature science tools.

Another facilitator, Mr. James Laar spoke to the trainees about L'aine Service as the provide Human Resources Services to businesses. NABCO trainees were educated on what employment firms sort to look out when doing recruitment.
