Small Scale Miners Association donates to Tarkwa prisons

The Tarkwa-Nsuaem Small Scale Miners Association has donated some items worth thousands of Ghana cedis to the Tarkwa Prisons in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality.

Items presented include, 200 pieces of T-roll, 50 bags of rice, 6 gallons of liquid soap, 5 bags of sugar, bags of gari and 400 pieces of alcohol-based hand sanitizers, nose masks among others.

The Chairman of the Association, Mr. Ekow Johnson who presented the items to the MCE noted that the Small Scale Miners Association was making the donation to help the fight against corona virus in the country.


ADP Kwaku Ababio Ali, the Tarkwa Prisons Commander who received the items on behalf of the Prisons service thanked the Association for their kind gesture.

On his part, the MCE admonished them to use the items judiciously and always serve the nation with selflessness and truth to make Ghana a better place for all.

He further congratulated the Association for such a kind gesture and advised them to always adhere to good practices in the discharge of their operations in the mining of gold in the country.

"The President directives on COVID-19 should also be adhered to at all times to safeguard our lives to work for mother Ghana" he added.
