He indicated that the government through the Environmental Protection Agency, Minerals Commission, and other concerned bodies have warned that residents should stay 500m radius away from every quarry site but the people seem not to respect that and rather they have built their houses on the rocks which put their own lives in danger.

Mr. Adu-Poku speaking at a program held at the district assembly's forecourt to account for the use of their "Quarry Development Fund", said they are fully ready with their Taskforce for a massive demolishing exercise.

He added that the district assembly is hugely benefiting from the fund and for that matter, they won't quietly watch some selfish people destroy the quarry business.

The Deputy Chief Operations Officer of the Central Command of the Ghana Armed Forces, Lt. Col. Dominic Ampomah stated that the military use those sites for their training, and due to that, the sites are very precious to them and with their intensiveness and the armories used like bombs, guns, and others, they see the encroachers’ lives in serious danger, and the military shall therefore join the district assembly in the demolishing exercise.
