Lawra Assembly benefits from ultra-modern E-Library

The under performance of the BECE results in the Lawra Municipality could be a result of lack of a learning and research facility like a library for youth of the Municipality.

It to reverse this trend that, the long rejected Community Youth Library constructed by the Lawra Municipal Assembly which has been abandoned with just a handful of books for so many years has finally been renovated by the Municipal Assembly and refurbished with ultra-modern IT equipment.

It was made possible with support from the Ghana Investment Fund For Electronic Communication (GIFEC) and was handover to the community by the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Martin Domotiere Bomba-ire of the Lawra Municipality and further commerce training of pupils.

To climax the training, a quiz competition between boys and girls with the girls emerging first with 149 points, and the boys with a close mark of 145 points.



In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Mr. Mohammed Abdul-Majeed, the Coordinating Director of the Lawra Municipal Assembly, congratulated the competitors for putting-up a spirited performance in proving their IT knowledge.

He added, the close marking of points shows that the pupils have actually gone through the training and has acquired knowledge and advised pupils to put it into use at home and various schools.



He said, the Municipal Assembly will be ready to support any student(s) who come out with good grades in all subjects in the Basic Education Certificate Examination.

He expressed his gratitude to GIFEC for bringing up such an opportunity to many children in the Lawra Municipality to boost their knowledge in ICT.
