Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly Support PWDs

The Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly has empowered 24 people with disabilities in the Municipality with start-ups to help them establish their businesses.

The empowerment initiative is part of a new policy directive under the current government in the quest to rather make the PWDs self-sufficient rather than their usual dependencies on others for a living.

This batch of empowerment is the 5th batch of support to the PWDs in the municipality bringing the total to 158 beneficiaries in total since 134 PWDs were supported in the previous 4th batches.

They received items ranging from building materials, bags of maize, 7 containers to set up shops, bags of charcoal, poly tanks. Others also received deep freezers, ice chest and 25 bags of sachet water to start their businesses.

Mr. Simon Kweku Tetteh, the Municipal Chief Executive assured beneficiaries of his maximum commitment to support more of their members to help them off the streets and do something better for their lives.

The chairman for the PWDS in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality expressed his heart felt appreciation to Mr. MCE and the president of the Republic of Ghana.
