Assembly Hands over Fully Renovated Meat Shop To The Community

The Abuakwa North Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Umar Babs Bodinga has handed over a fully refurbished building for the butchers at the Akyem New tafo Market in the Eastern Region of Ghana to serve as meat shop.

According to the MCE, the building has not seen any facelift since its construction in the 1960s. it was in a very deplorable state, hence the urgent need for the rehabilitation with funding from the District Assembly’s Common Funds.

The twenty (20) seller capacity tiled building is flitted with ceiling fans, two cold rooms with electricity supply and potable water.

Mr. Bodinga said, the Assembly has expedited the completion of the new abattoir to serve the good people of Abuakwa North.

In order to ensure that wholesome meat are served to the people of Abuakwa North, the Assembly together with the Member of Parliament who doubles as Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Mr.Gifty Twum-Ampofo, have acquired four (4) tricycles which will be used to convey the meat from the abattoir to the meat shop to end the regime of taxi cabs usage for that purpose he added
