Abuakwa North Assembly launches two Mobile Apps

Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga the Municipal Chief Executive of Abuakwa North together with the Ghana Statistical Service, has launched "Let's Talk and Cleanapp '' Ghana mobile Apps at the Municipal Assembly Hall, Akyem Kukuratumi.

The MCE in a keynote address stated that the two mobile applications will help in data collection on gender based violence and solid waste management in the comfort of netizens homes for rapid response from the relevant offices.

He further explained that, "Let's Talk Ghana" App is to inform relevant authorities on gender based violence whilst the "Cleanapp Ghana" deals with solid waste reportage and stressed that,  USSD code *8008*818# and *920*58# could be used for non-Android phone users on "Let's Talk and Cleanapp Ghana" respectively.He added that the identity of the reporter is encrypted and admonished all to download the Apps.

He ended by launching the Apps and said, the Nana Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) has brought governance to the people of Abuakwa North and other twenty nine (29) MMDAs, therefore all must embrace the initiative for socio-economic development of the country.



There was a presentation from the Municipal Gender Desk Officer, Madam Cynthia Agaah, on gender based violence and Assistant Environmental Health Officer who doubles as the Municipal Prosecutor, Mr Samuel Dzomenyo who also spoke on solid waste management in the Municipality.

A ten (10) trained member Technical Team chaired by Mrs Beatrice Nyarkoa Budu, Municipal National Commission for Civic Education Director (NCCE) was inaugurated to champion the advocacy and implementation of the initiative in the Municipality.They were charged to be proactive and diligent to their call to serve the Municipality and the country as a whole.

Present at the launch were the Eastern Regional Statistics Officer, Mr Bright Neku, Mr John Ankrah Municipal Coordinating Director, Bafuor Frempong, Mmratohene of Kukuratumi, DSP Frederick Kpetigo, Tafo District Police Crime Officer, Departmental Heads and some selected staff, Assembly Members and a representative of Local Council of Churches of Abuakwa North.
