The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area, Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga explained that, the local government Act, Act 936 directs local assemblies to hold forums to account to the people, and also to discuss plans of the assembly for the next 4years.

Member of Parliament for the area, Mrs. Gifty Twum Amponfo, took time to explain the controversial e-levy at the forum.

She says the e-levy is not targeted at the poor people because the data show that most poor people do not perform transactions that exceed GHC 100 daily.

She also explained that going to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is not an option because that may force the government to stop some social interventions such as Free SHS, payment of teacher training and nurses allowances among others.

The municipal budget officer and the planning unit took time to explain funds generated internally and externally to finance Assembly projects.
