Mr. Tampugre made the call during this year’s annual children retreat of the Atebubu Trinity Seventh Day Adventist Church in Atebubu.
Speaking on the topic ‘children at risk’ he touched on inappropriate television content and pornographic internet sites on mobile phones as things that could corrupt the morals of children thus derailing their march to future success.
Mr. Tampugre noted that current economic challenges have led to a number of school going children engaging in economic activities at the expense of their education, a situation he said does not augur well for their future wellbeing.
He urged the children to imbibe in themselves the principles of honesty, integrity and truthfulness in order to become good citizens.
Quoting from the book of psalms chapter 127 verse 3 he reminded parents that children are a special gift from the almighty hence the need to take very good care of them.
The youth director of the ministry Mr. Stephen Ofori Sarfo said the annual event seeks to create awareness of the challenges faced by children and what could be done to protect them from harm.
The children led by the child coordinator of the ministry Madam Esther Donkor performed a drama based on the story of Noah and the ark reminding all of the need to be obedient to God’s word.
