Strive for higher achievements-Oforikrom MCE urges students

The Oforikrom Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Honorable Gloria Temmah Gambrah has asked pupils of Jubilee Preparatory and Junior High School to strive for higher achievements. The honorable MCE said this during the maiden edition of the School’s graduation ceremony.

She indicated Education is paramount in every Country since it facilitates the process of achieving knowledge, values, skills, beliefs and moral habits of individuals and therefore the need to strive higher in that aspect of their lives.

“It has been established that pupils cannot achieve their objectives without a concerted effort by key stakeholders which of course, this school in the Municipality plays an indispensable roles

I therefore wish to urge both the school authorities and the students to strive for higher achievements to raise the standard of the School to the very best in this Municipality”.

Speaking on the theme “Unveiling the hidden potential of the child through quality education, the role of stakeholders”, the honorable MCE point out that, quality education provides the foundation for equity in the society and that was why the government had ensured that quality education was available freely to all citizens, by the bold and rigorous implementation of free SHS Policy.

According to her, enhancing the youth is a major priority of the Government of the day, and “that is why we all have witnessed the successful implementation of the free Senior High School Policy in the Country, which has greatly relieved parents of the burden of paying fees for their children”. She was quick to admit that, though there are few challenges facing the implementation of the policy, the government is seriously addressing them.

Honorable Gambrah assured government was going to do its possible best to promote the welfare of teachers and non-teaching staff in the service to ensure that they worked with dedication to bring quality service delivery to all Ghanaians within all corners of the country.

Having congratulated all graduands, she urged all students to take their studies seriously as well as the teachers to abide by the code of ethics of the profession they have chosen so as to serve the country with love and loyalty in order to live by the required standards.
