Mr. Acquah won comfortably by 215 as against the incumbent, Mr. Agyapong Quaittoo 170, and Asante Bediako who had 2.
Mr. Akwasi Acquah was predicted to carry the day long before going into the contest, and it was not surprising he really emerged the winner. However, what was surprising was the wide margin of defeat of 45 votes.
This means he is one of over 40 new faces to have booted out the incumbent MPs in the New Patriotic Party and would be lacing their boots to recapture those seats come December 2020.
The wild jubilation that followed the declaration from the citizens is a clear indication of large support from the citizenry to have him represent them in parliament come 2021.
Meanwhile, Mr. Acquah called for teamwork among the members of the party to ensure victory for the NPP in Election 2020.
