The funds if realized would be use to finance a number of development projects earmark in communities of the Municipality.

Sources the assembly hopes to generate the revenue include tolls, rates, licenses, lands, fees and fines, rents and other investments.

Mr Alex Somuah Obeng, the Municipal Chief Executive said this when he addressed the fourth session of the assembly at Nkawkaw where the 2010 budget estimate for Municipal was approved.

Giving an insight into the revenue performance, he said, the assembly collected GH¢225,083.44 as at September 2008 as against GH¢200,701.76 for the same period in 2009.

He said currently the assembly hoped to cede portions of its revenue collection activity to private organizations in order to improve upon its revenue base.

The Municipal Chief Executive expressed concern about the low communal spirit among the people and the lack of support to the municipal activities.

He, therefore, called for more education to be carried out on the Municipal activities by the assemblies themselves.
