Madam Harriet Lomotey, the District Director for Education, who disclosed this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, said the move as a necessity, adding that this will ensure that children receive information from not just story and text books but also the national dailies.
According to her, the directorate was equally rolling out similar programmes to help force school pupils to grasp reading and writing at the early stages of life.
She said, in a bid to achieve this, the Directorate in collaboration with the District Assembly, has constructed adequate school blocks and also provided other teaching and learning materials to enhance education in the area.
She added that stringent measures are also being enforced in order to drastically reduce teacher absenteeism in the district.
In a related development, Madam Lomotey again revealed that the Directorate has also received some 600 pieces of dual desks to help support teaching and learning.
She charged recipient schools to ensure good maintenance culture in order to prolong the lifespan of these desks.
