The District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Kpone Katamanso District Assembly (KKDA), Alhaji Issah Antiee Tetteh says as long as the Assembly continues to have boundary issues with Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA), development in the district will be

He noted that the situation is preventing them from raking in major revenues because the Assembly has no funds to develop the peripheries communities in the district.

In an interview with Citi News, Alhaji Tetteh mentioned that an estimate of GHC 267,000 is annually being lost to industries within the disputed area.

According to him, the district lacks schools, markets and other important social amenities therefore, if the Assembly was able to recover the monies due them, “it would have done a lot for us in terms of the provision of these amenities but it [money] is locked up”.

He warned that if care is not taken, “by the time we get it, the money will devalue…and until we are able to generate a lot, we cannot do anything for them [residents].”
