KPONE: Assembly invests GHs147,656.00 on smooth administration

The Kpone-Katamanso District Assembly (KKDA) has since its inception spent a total of GH¢147,656.00 on strengthening and ensuring the smooth operations of administration.

The Kpone-Katamanso District Assembly (KKDA) has since its inception spent a total of GH¢147,656.00 on strengthening and ensuring the smooth operations of administration.

Alhaji Antiaye Tetteh, District Chief Executive (DCE) announced this yesterday in his first Sessional Address at the Assembly’s First Ordinary General Meeting.

Alhaji Tetteh noted that the money was spent on equipping and furnishing of the various departments of the Assembly among other investments.

The Assembly received a total of GH¢ 467,757.24 as its share of the District Assemblies Common Fund.

The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has also allocated GH¢47,000 to capacity building and GH¢239,000 for development projects.

The DCE said since its inception the Assembly had internally generated a total of GH¢237,198.45.

Alhaji Tetteh said the major challenges facing the KKDA in the collection of revenue, he said includes lack of proper pay points, lack of ID cards and uniforms for collectors as well as unavailability of vehicles and improper demarcation of boundaries with other assemblies.

He said the TOR-Kpone road, Ashaiman-Zenu road and other roads in the district are being rehabilitated.

Alhaji Tetteh said a District Health Directorate has been established to manage and improve health service in the area.

So far the Directorate had embarked on public education on HIV and AIDS and reproductive health campaign.
