The Gushegu District Assembly is highly committed to improve the level of sanitation in its various environs as it had geared up to increase institutional latrines in some selected schools of the area.

This effort by the Assembly is critically in line with government’s plan to rid the country of filth and generally enhance water, sanitation and hygiene across-board to accelerate progress in meeting the 2015 deadline set for sanitation under the Millennium Development Goals (MDG’s).

Mr. Fuseini Alhassan, the District Chief Executive of the Gushegu District Assembly in an interaction with Ghanadistricts.com noted that the assembly has considered increasing such facilities in schools since it was invariably essential as part of the sure ways to wholly manage sanitation.

Some of the selected schools that he claimed benefited from the facility included Kpatinga primary, Gushegu L/A primary, and Markazya primary amongst others.

In addition to this, he said the construction of some 10 seater KVIP facility is also ongoing at Gushegu SHS which is being undertaken by the assembly to beef up sanitary facilities in the school.
