OBUASI: Assembly kickstarts new projects
The outgoing Ashanti Regional Minister has cut sod for the construction of four major projects in the Obuasi municipality.

The outgoing Ashanti Regional Minister has cut sod for the construction of four major projects in the Obuasi municipality.
The projects include a GH¢ 680, 000 Divisional Police Head Quarters and a GH¢ 219,000 circuit court, with the Obuasi Municipal Security Fund and Urban Development Grant (UDG 2) as source of Funding.
The rest are a lorry terminal at the Obuasi Horsey Park and the construction of an industrial site at a cost of about GH¢ 700,000.
The over GH¢ 5 million lorry terminal, which is under the Assembly’s Build Operate Transfer (BOT) system would comprise of a police post, a fire station, a filling station, health post, two storey office complex and a single storey toilet facility.
Hon. Eric Opoku expressed government’s commitment towards ensuring the well being of Ghanaians.
The Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Richard Ofori Agyeman Boadi urged the contractors to do their best to see for the timely completion of the project.
While commending the people of Obuasi for their continuous support, the MCE appealed to them to be patient with the government as the development of Obuasi remained a priority of the President.
Those present included OkofoSobinKan, Lawrence Nana Bondah and ACP FrimpongDoku, Dompoasehene, Presiding Member of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly and Deputy Ashanti regional commander respectively.
