OBUASI: AGA Hospital Gets New Pharmacy And Laboratory Block

A Pharmacy and Laboratory block has been commissioned at the Edwin Arthur Cade Hospital, formerly Anglo Gold Ashanti (AGA) Hospital, at a cost of GH¢500,000.

A Pharmacy and Laboratory block has been commissioned at the Edwin Arthur Cade Hospital, formerly Anglo Gold Ashanti (AGA) Hospital, at a cost of GH¢500,000.

Speaking at the official commissioning of the project, Mr. Fred Attakumah, Vice President – Sustainability of Anglo Gold Ashanti, Ghana, said the Edwin Arthur Cade Hospital, which was established in 1930, currently records 15,000 patients monthly.

“It is interesting to note that 40 percent of the 15,000 patients that visit the facility are not employees of the mine.”

He added the facility would continue to offer care to the company’s employees and their dependants, as well as people in surrounding communities.

The Vice President disclosed that it was the company’s aim to sustain and expand its ratings, in terms of quality delivery.

Mr. Paa Kwesi Cromwell, acting Medical Service Manager of the hospital, on his part, called for renewed commitment on the part of the staff of the facility, and gave the assurance to take proper care of the facility.

Present were Messrs Mark Macomb, Nicho D’large, and John Owusu, Senior Vice President -Ghana, Vice President Finance – Ghana, and General Manager – Public Affairs of the mine respectively.
