OBUASI: Two benefit from LESDEP

The Local Enterprise and Skills Development (LESDEP) in obuasi has handed two tricycles popularly known as “jawara” to Elder Kwame Nkrumah and Madam Mamunatu lddrissu in obuasi.

The Local Enterprise and Skills Development (LESDEP) in obuasi has handed two tricycles popularly known as “jawara” to Elder Kwame Nkrumah and Madam Mamunatu lddrissu in obuasi.

This program is under the local government and rural development which is aimed at eradicating poverty in the country.

Presenting the tricycles to the beneficiaries at the obuasi municipal assembly, the municipal chief executive, Hon Richard ofori Agyeman Boadi, said government was critical at ensuring the development of local enterprises.

He advised the beneficiaries to put the tricycles into good use to enable others benefit from the programme. He tasked the youth not to politicize the program so as to encourage them make effective use of them.

The municipal co coordinator of LESDEP, Mr. farouk Umar said, the youth are oriented to know their capabilities and their specialization before providing them with the needed equipment.

“The cost of a tricycle is GHC 3,162 and every person pay an advance of GHC 900 before you are handed over and the rest of the money must be pay installments every month and it should be due diligence”, he added.
