The Metropolitan Chief Executive for Cape Coast, Ms Priscilla Arhin, has assured that the assembly would continue with its development agenda initiated by her predecessor.

She said projects which started during the era of former Cape Coast mayor will not be left at the mercy of the rain but will rather ensure their completion before new projects are awarded on contract.

Ms Priscilla Arhin who gave the assurance when speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com further added that it was revealed in her maiden tour to some communities in the metropolis that most projects which began during the time of her predecessor had not been completed and hence was her responsibility to ensure their completion.

She however stated that the delay in these construction works could be attributed to financial constrains of the assembly but insisted that money has been secured to ensure that such projects are completed very soon to pave way for new ones to commence.

Some projects to receive finishing touches according her includes a forty (40) lockable stores in Effutu Koforidua, completion of Kotokoraba main market, ongoing classroom block for some selected schools among other social amenities.

Meanwhile, it has also been revealed that rehabilitation works will soon begin on the Abura main market.

The MCE further disclosed that negotiations were still ongoing between the assembly and leadership of the market women for relocation of the market.

She appealed to the women to accept terms and condition from the assembly to expedite work on the project.
